Maybelline Nude palette range review

I've seen these palettes a few times now and haven’t been sure about whether to take a chance on them or not, but after seeing them for like the fourth time I decided I had to give them a go. There are four in the range; Blushed nudes, Graffiti nudes, The Nudes and 24karat Nudes, below are the two I tried.

The shades in the Blushed Nudes palette are so pretty, the light colours are quite shimmery and I felt like I was picking up quite a lot of product on my brush which was great. The darker colours in the palette are really lovely and nicely pigmented, you can create some beautiful looks with this, I’ve actually been using this loads at the moment. After trying that one I was really looking forward to trying the Graffiti Nudes palette, but I have to be honest, that one was really disappointing. Only a few of the colours really showed up well, the purple and the red shade were quite strong colours, but they did seem a bit ashy and and weren’t as bold as you would expect them to be from the way they look in the pan. The green shade in this palette looked so gorgeous in the pan but when I tried to swatch it, it actually looked almost greyish black. You do have to really work to create a good smokey eye with this palette, which is really annoying because the colours looked so nice. It reminded me of one of those budget palettes I would buy as a teenager, where the packaging looked great but the eye shadow literally did nothing for you and felt like talcum powder. Overall, the Grafitti Nudes palette was a big disappointment, and I wouldn't recommend it at all but the Blushed Nudes palette is definitely worth a try.
